Needless to say it is important to work as part of a team in any sport, but it is also important that each and every individual improves their own game so that they could be active contributors to their team.

Typically practice time is spent honing team skills, although a small portion of time must be spent instructing on an individual basis. Assessing each and every player is a perfect first step. Once the player’s strong points and weaknesses are assessed than the individual soccer drills can begin.

Individual soccer drills are meant to expand on an individuals strengths and to improve their weaknesses. They can be as simple as advising a weak runner to run up and down the field to increase their stamina, or they may be as complex as combining several different types of drills to increase the all around game.

It is not necessary to do these drills alone they could be done as part of a group, if there are several members of the same team that need to improve their stamina than those members can work together as a team on their individual drills.

Of course even if each member is completely different and their individual drills are different they could still work out at the same place and time they’ll just be doing different things.

Individual soccer drills may be done at home, during any down time. Even if the team does not have practice for the day the individual can still act on their own to perfect their game.

The more the individual works on perfecting their game the more the team will benefit. Taking practice seriously enough to do it everyday will improve the game of both the novice and the expert player.

Great athletes aren’t born they’re created. Individual soccer drills can help to make the perfect athlete and they shouldn’t be overlooked. The team is after all made up of individuals. The weaknesses of the individual can bring the whole team down.

Kasabian Score Football Deal

Leicester born rockers Kasabian are popular with the footballing crowd as their songs have been used in many football ad campaigns, highlights and match promotions. Their indie-rock-electro sound seems to strike a chord with the tempo of football and the excitement it creates which is why they have recently signed a three year deal with the Barclays premier league.

Their lucrative deal will allow one of their most successful tracks ‘fire’ to be used in the title sequences of every match over the next three years. If this was only a deal for the UK, it would still be incredibly valuable but the league plans to use the song on every game it shows in the 200 countries it broadcasts.

The contract, which was worth millions of pounds, will mean that the broadcasters will legally have to use the track whenever they show live games.

Sony, the record label of Kasabian hope the deal will help promote the band’s third album, West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum, around the world, raising their international profile. The live matches are viewed by up to 1 billion viewers so they should have no problem.

This is not the first time the band has been called upon to make football musical; before the world cup, singer Tom Meighan launched Umbro’s England World Cup Kit and their music is consistently used on TV, especially Match of The Day and Sky Sports.

Paul Molnar of the Premier League said “If we had just wanted a track there are thousands that we could have used but Kasabian are seen as a football band and that makes the track much stronger.”

The deal will make the band one of the UK’s biggest musical exports since The Beatles; however the lads have not let fame and fortune go to their head and ensure they attend every Leicester City FC match when not on tour.

Kasabian’s music has also been used in the launch of the new Umbro Speciali boot and this season’s Liverpool Football Shirt.
